A physical therapist and a technician or engineer conduct motion analysis tests as a team in a room equipped with advanced video, motion capture, and other monitoring equipment. You should arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to complete the check in process. Please check in upstairs in Orthopeadics, before proceeding to the gait lab. A typical gait lab visit takes 2.5 to 3 hours and involves several steps. Parents are able to say with their child the entire time. Results will be available to your physician 3-6 weeks after your visit.
What to Bring
- We ask that your bring any orthotics, braces, crutches, walkers, or any other currently used walking aids.
- Because we need to see both legs, both arms, both shoulders, and part of the back, please bring or wear the following:
- Girls: a bathing suit
- Boys: shorts or bathing suit. They should be as short as possible or able to be rolled above the knees.
